I love the "One Minute" series of books in business. It doesn't look to push a doctoral dissertation onto you based on one person's opinion. On the other side for example, The One Minute Manager covers a narrow spectrum of business and management. However, the series starts to assemble a more complete look at business. It uses great stories to exemplify the message.
Dave Ramsey is best known for his financial education series and associated radio show. However, I recommend his book, EntreLeadership! There is no new principles shared within the book, but I find it to be one of the best compilations of business leadership principles out there.
Another favorite book of mine is:
First, Break all the Rules by Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman
Other great books include;
“Authority makes you a manager, how you engage with your team determines if you are a leader!”
Every workplace needs committed and caring people-managers so that businesses continue to be strong and competitive in the world’s marketplace. Called to Manage draws from over 30 years of hands-on experience and references a unique eighteenth-century handbook of Christian-based business rules written by London merchants and businessmen. Human nature certainly has not changed since the eighteenth-century, and leading people from a Christian standpoint is as important today as it ever has been.
As leaders, we are called to serve and support our teams and organizations. We must actively help them thrive and succeed in their jobs and careers. There is a profound need to transform the principles and ethics of today’s people-management, and this book proposes this transformation specifically from a Christian leadership point of view.
